Sam Thousand is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/writer, producer/composer and a 3Arts Recipient with 15+ years of experience in live performance art, curation, and self management.

Sam Thousand has 10 years of experience as a full-time performing artist in Chicago, has held various performance residencies, and has composed original music for films, podcasts, and dance theater. Thousand is a business owner and social entrepreneur. He is co-founder of the Chicago-based arts organization, ChiBrations, who just entered the tech industry with their premiere app for the performing arts community to discover and amplify Open Mics and Jam Sessions in Greater Chicago. Big on legacy, Sam Thousand remains a teacher, learner, and sharer of knowledge to peers and youth. Everywhere he goes, he brings a sophistication that engages & uplifts.

Sam Thousand has live in Chicago for 15 years, and moved from Houston, TX to study Jazz Trumpet on a full scholarship at Columbia College Chicago.

Sam Thousand has a BFA in Jazz Studies on Trumpet from Columbia College Chicago.
